Barrister & Solicitor
Emily joined Daunais McKay & Harms in the summer of 2018 as a Student at Law after graduating from the Juris Doctor program at the University of Calgary. Throughout her time at UCalgary Law, she found many opportunities to enhance her knowledge of family law issues.
Emily spent a summer working as a summer student with Student Legal Assistance (SLA), which allowed her to assist low income clients with a variety of family law issues including parenting, guardianship, and child support. She continued to volunteer with SLA after her work term was completed, as well as participating in the Emergency Protection Order Project with Pro Bono Students Canada. Throughout her time at law school she remained active in student government, and also worked on developing her oral advocacy skills through mooting. Most notably, Emily participated in the 2017 Gale Cup Moot, and participated as a finalist and semi-finalist in the 2016 and 2017 William McGillivray Moot Shield Competition.
In Emily’s down time you can usually find her at a spin studio, spending time with friends and family, or reading a good book.
